Receipt export guide
Prepare receipt records for TallyPrime
Review receipt details, assign the ledgers used by your company and export the records for your Tally workflow. Check the import features available in your version before choosing a file format.
1. Review the purchase details
Compare each original document with the vendor, invoice number, date and amounts. Correct missing fields and examine possible duplicates before exporting.
2. Set company-specific ledger mappings
Choose the party ledger, expense ledger and voucher type required by your company. Keep account and tax mappings under your control; a receipt parser is not a tax-filing or compliance decision service.
3. Map the spreadsheet in TallyPrime
TallyPrime versions with Excel import can use a mapping template for an organisation’s spreadsheet layout. Export an XLSX file, map its columns in the supported importer and review the import summary. Older versions or other workflows may need a separate import tool.
Before you import
- Confirm that the relevant company ledgers already exist.
- Review date formats and currency before importing.
- Retain a backup and test a small set of records before applying a larger import.
Export option: Tally layout / mapped Excel workbook.
Try the workflow with fictional receipts
Use the public sample to compare originals, edit fields, inspect a duplicate and export CSV or Excel. Manual entry in the workspace does not use AI; an active paid pass is required for AI extraction.
